Truett B. Akin IV
Truett is a graduate of the South Texas College of Law. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from University of Houston where he played college football.
Truett’s father was, for years, a revered fixture of the Houston legal community, and so it came as no surprise when he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and become an attorney, as did two of his sisters.
Michelle L. Mears
Michelle is a graduate of the South Texas College of Law. She received her Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Economics from George Washington University and her Master’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature from George Mason University.
A diplomat’s daughter, Michelle spent a great deal of her childhood in Latin America and Spain. Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked as a Spanish legal interpreter and translator.
After decades of experience and success as litigation attorneys, Truett and Michelle founded AkinMears, G.P. to pursue their vision of bringing a new standard of excellence of representation and quality of service, to help people who have been injured due to the negligence of others.
Rebecca L. Akin
Rebecca is a graduate of South Texas College of Law. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University.
Rebecca has grown up working in law firms and managing all aspects of pharmaceutical mass tort litigation dockets. Rebecca also has been involved in helping injured claimants in catastrophic injury matters, medical device failures and other severe personal injury actions.
Patricia J. Russell
Patricia is a graduate of South Texas College of Law. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University.
Aaron K. Dickey, Of Counsel
Aaron is a graduate of Saint Louis University School of Law. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
Aaron’s practice focuses on representation of individuals who have been injured by exposure to asbestos, pharmaceutical drugs, medical devices and other serious injuries. He has worked with individuals and families from across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Aaron has studied in Mexico and speaks Spanish.
